In June 2020, the ZEV Alliance hosted its first-ever virtual Assembly, following in-person events in Montreal in 2016, Amsterdam in 2017,London in 2018, and New York City in 2019. 17 ZEV Alliance member governments joined the two-day meeting to share updates, discuss challenges, and plan how to advance ZEV progress to meet climate and air quality targets. Canada attended their first Assembly since joining in August 2019; the ZEV Alliance governments also welcomed Chile and Costa Rica as observers. Topics discussed during the meeting included collaboration between the ZEV Alliance and China (including through the ZEV Policy Lab), ZEVs as a part of “green recovery” packages, increasing equity in ZEV uptake, and designing 100% ZEV policies.
